I have taken on the somewhat crazy task of making my own wedding cake. As someone who has generally shied away from layer cakes and fiddly frosting techniques and any kind of buttercream in general, THIS IS REALLY QUITE BIG. Because our wedding is essentially going to be a hipster picnic in the park, I don't think the guests will mind if we serve my fallback option, which is a couple of bundt . . .
I've been making a lot of banana bread lately. I think it's because I've been buying a lot of bananas, intending to put them in smoothies, but then going for the toast + coffee option in the mornings. Then I end up with a bunch of delightfully aged bananas, just waiting to be baked into a quickbread. My lifestyle is so healthy, it's astounding. I know. Same goes for zucchinis. I like to put . . .
I've been having the worst run of cake baking lately, so I've decided to just start waffling my cake batter instead. After all, buttermilk waffles pretty much contain the same ingredients as cake, maybe with some differences in quantities, but they're both essentially a party consisting of eggs, sugar, flour and butter/oil. I remember being *so* impressed with that cake. Then she mentioned that she had a food blog, and I was a little bit in awe of her for being so committed to food that she would maintain an entire website dedicated to . . .
I once thought I was a breakfast person - you know, one of those people who are crazily enthusiastic about breakfast and even get started the night before - but since starting this blog, I've realised... I'm really not. I've found so many cool food blogs and Instagram accounts that prove me wrong. For example, Izy has an entire section on her blog dedicated only to pancakes & waffles, and . . .
I figure it's time to share my personal banana bread recipe on this food bloggy corner of the internet. Remember when I said I regularly buy extra bananas in order to have an excuse to make banana bread on the weekend? (I said that over I said that over here). Well, this is what I make. And I know that it's really not a groundbreaking thing to do to, you know, post a recipe for banana bread on the . . .
